Jozef Dominguez, author/lecturer/entrepreneur, is actively involved in many forms of humanitarian endeavors, ranging from educational reform to community development and integrative health care. Areas of focus at the present time include the development of innovative literacy programs for disadvantaged youth and creative curriculum building in the public schools. Many of the programs that Jozef spearheads are implemented first in an underserved, ethnically diverse area of New Mexico before being implemented nationally.
"One of the basic beliefs that motivates my work," he says, "is that all children, regardless of background, learning style, or ethnic origin, deserve the highest quality of education we can possibly provide for them. It has been my goal from the start to help these children, and their parents, to rise above external circumstances, never allowing the difficulties they face to become the defining characteristics of their lives." In March, 2003, the Ford Foundation, in association with the Advocacy Institute of Washington, DC, recognized Jozef for his "extraordinary leadership in tackling tough social problems," and for his "ingenuity, effectiveness, and high degree of commitment" in responding to some of the most challenging social problems we face today.
As President and Founder of Tribal VibeZ, Sun Dial Counsel, OneJ Coaching, Sierra Dove Global and OneJozef, Jozef is able to address a broad spectrum of social issues. Educational projects are carried out under the auspices of Sierra Dove Global, a privately held NM LLC, with OneJozef and Tribal VibeZ serving as resource companies. Jozef's goals reach beyond all boundaries of gender, age, religion, race, and creed. In all of his varied activities, his objective is to awaken us to the promptings of our own inner wisdom, and to demonstrate means by which we may apply this wisdom on all levels, from transpersonal to global. Our collective growth, he tells us, implemented with discernment and personal accountability, can create a ripple effect in society that carries with it a tremendous opportunity for constructive change.

In the history of the great and holy beings of the world the greatest and the most blessed have been the devotees. ... devotion teaches one Virtue; sincerity, earnestness, the sense of duty: all different Virtues come by devotion. A person who is devoted to anyone in the world, to one's father or mother or brother or sister or children or friend, has taken the first step in devotion. But the one who shows his-her devotion in the spiritual path to his-her teacher S/He has taken the second step. S/He has only to take one more step and S/He will be there. And that will be the devotion to his-her Ideal.

The secret of discipleship is not study or contemplation, but devotion; at that moment it is NOT about the Teacher-Guide but God who is seen. The door is unlocked, the shrine is opened, it is no more about the Teacher-Guide but about God; and from that time I realized that, Teacher-Guide apart -- anyone in the world, mother, father, servant, poor person, beggar, innocent child, helpful friend, even through them God can answer the cry of the heart, if one went at the right moment and knocked at the door. ... Devotion to the teacher is not for the sake of the teacher, it is for God. Even in the case of a teacher the devotee may make a mistake by halting at the feet of the teacher and not progressing to God. The teacher is a shield covering God, a Gate through which one has to go (may choose to go). As it is necessary to enter the Gate, so to reach God it is necessary to have devotion to the teacher first. But the Ideal of real progress is that we, through our devotion, arrives to God, freeing ourselves from all limitations and bondages. For the teacher, one has gratitude, but love and devotion is for God.

Remember that the teacher is one who is oneself a disciple. In reality there is no such thing as a teacher. God alone is Teacher, we all are disciples. The lesson we all have to learn is the lesson of discipleship; it is the first and the last.

Devotion to a spiritual teacher
is not for the sake of the teacher,
it is for God.
*Ideal (Highest Ideal) (Ideal=God and Union of same)
The teacher, however great, can never give his knowledge to the pupil;
The work of a mystical teacher is not to teach, but to tune, to tune the pupil so that s/he may become the Instrument of God. For the mystical teacher is not the player of the instrument; he is the tuner. When he has tuned it, he gives it into the hands of the Player whose instrument it is to play.
The duty of the mystical teacher is his service as a tuner.
The “task” of the teacher is not to force a belief on a “student”, but to train him so that he may become Illuminated enough to receive revelations him-herself.
Truth by its very nature cannot be uttered, cannot be given. One cannot give that which cannot be put into speech. So the teacher gives a method for finding the Truth, for unfolding it, for unlocking that which seems to be in one's Heart. ... It is clearly impossible for anyone to impart his knowledge to another person; he can only show him-her how to unfold his-her own knowledge to him-herself. Everybody possesses a kingdom, but S/he has to find it.
There is only One Teacher, and that Teacher is God/dess Him-Herself. No man can teach another man. All one can do for another is to give him-her one's own experience in order to help them to be Successful. For instance if a person happens to know a road, he can tell another wo/man that it is the road which leads to the Place s/he wishes to find. The work of the spiritual teacher is like the work of Cupid. The work of Cupid is to bring two souls together.
And so is the work of the spiritual teacher: to bring together the soul and God/dess.
But what is taught to the one who seeks after truth? Nothing is taught. S/He is only shown how they should learn from God/dess. For no man can ever teach spirituality. It is God/dess alone who Teaches it. And how is it learned? When these ears which are open outwardly are closed to the outside world and Focused Upon the Heart Within, then instead of hearing all that comes from the outer life one begins to hear (Listen) the Word(s) Within. Thus if one were to define what Meditation is, that also is an attitude: the Right Attitude towards God/dess. The Attitude should first be to Seek God/dess Within.
And, after Seeking God/dess within, then to see God/dess outside.

Buddha was well known for his ability to respond to evil with good. There was a man who knew about his reputation and he traveled miles and miles and miles to test Buddha. When he arrived and stood before Buddha, he verbally abused him constantly, he insulted him, he challenged him, he did everything he could to offend Buddha. Buddha was unmoved, he simply turned to the man and said, “May I ask you a question?” The man responded with “Well, what?” Buddha said, “If someone offers you a gift and you decline to accept it to whom then does it belong?” The man said, “Then it belongs to the person who offered it” Buddha smiled, “That is correct. So if I decline to accept your abuse does it not then still belong to you?” The man was speechless and walked away.
